Messages on an order
Where to find messages about an assignment, how to reply, and why replies route the way they do.

On this page
Questions come up on nearly every assignment — an access detail, a clarification about the subject, a note from the client. Those conversations live on the order itself rather than in your inbox, so the whole exchange stays with the file.
Finding the thread
Open the order and choose Messages from the review header. Anything sent about that assignment is there in order, and a new message also reaches you as a notification so you are not relying on checking.
Who your reply goes to
On an order managed by an AMC, your reply goes to the AMC rather than straight to the lender. That is the appraiser-independence firewall, not a limitation of the software — the AMC sits between you and the client by design. On an order you took directly, your reply goes to the client who placed it.
What gets filtered
Some inbound messages are held back or answered automatically because of what they ask for. A message flagged this way is marked in the thread, so you can see that something was addressed on your behalf rather than wondering why it never arrived.
