Revisions and reconsiderations of value
What happens when a delivered report comes back, and how to work a revision request or an ROV.

On this page
A delivered report can come back two ways: a revision request, which asks you to correct or clarify something, and a reconsideration of value, which disputes the conclusion itself. They are different asks and they are handled differently.
Revision requests
A revision arrives as a list of specific items rather than a general complaint, so you can see exactly what is being asked. You are notified when one is filed, and the order moves into a revision state so it is visible as outstanding work rather than sitting quietly in your completed pile.
Reconsiderations of value
An ROV asks you to reconsider the value, usually with alternative sales offered for your consideration. Considering them is your call as the appraiser: you review what was submitted, decide whether it changes your opinion, and record why. Declining to change the value is a legitimate outcome, and the reasoning belongs in the file.
After you respond
Reworking a report follows the same path as the original: make your changes, finalize again, and deliver. The earlier version stays in the workfile — a revision adds to the record rather than replacing it.
